Who I work with & how I help
Concerns I work with
Trauma & PTSD: Reprocessing trauma and painful past experiences so they no longer hijack your present.
Childhood & Developmental Trauma: Healing long-standing wounds from painful family dynamics, relationships, or environments where you felt unsafe.
Anxiety & Chronic Overwhelm: Taming constant stress loops, hypervigilance, and the physical feeling of always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Relationship Patterns & Attachment Wounds: Unpacking and shifting repetitive relationship dynamics such as difficulties setting healthy boundaries or persistent fears of abandonment.
People-Pleasing & Perfectionism: Shifting away from the exhausting need to keep everyone else happy at the expense of your own boundaries and well-being.
Depression & Emotional Numbness: Safely reconnecting with your emotions when you feel empty and numb, or finding movement towards feeling present and motivated.
Self-Worth & Low Self-Esteem: Softening the inner critic and building genuine, grounded self-compassion and self-acceptance.
Life Transitions & Identity Exploration: Navigating major life shifts, career changes, or rediscovering who you are.
Communities I serve
I work with individuals 15+.
While I work with people across many backgrounds, I hold a deep passion for supporting:
Adolescents & Young Adults: Navigating the intense transitions, identity shifts, and pressures that come with emerging adulthood, college, or stepping into independence.
The LGBTQIA+ Community: Providing an explicitly affirming and safe space to explore identities, process challenges, and build authentic connections.
Individuals Healing from Religious Trauma: Supporting those processing spiritual abuse, high-control religious environments, faith transitions, or the complex grief of stepping away from a faith community.
My therapeutic approach
My approach focuses on using effective trauma treatments that work with a diverse range of people and concerns.
While we will build practical coping skills and solutions along the way, my main focus is to use deeper trauma therapies that go beyond typical talk therapy to get to the root of the problem, creating true, lasting change.
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) EMDR helps the brain process unresolved, painful memories that remain emotionally or physically "stuck." EMDR reduces the distressing intensity of triggers and helps your nervous system recognize that the past is over. EMDR helps bridge the gap between your mind and your body; taking the things you logically and intellectually know are true and helping them finally feel true deep down.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) IFS operates on the premise that we all have different "parts" within us that are trying to help protect us in the best way they know how. Maybe you have an inner critic, a people-pleaser, or a part that shuts down in conflict. IFS helps us understand ourselves with nuance, move away from black-and-white thinking, and develop true self-compassion. When our parts feel understood, they can start to trust that it’s safe to soften and do things differently.
IFS-Informed EMDR Integration By combining IFS and EMDR, therapy moves at a pace that is both deeply transformative and safe. IFS-informed EMDR is a grounded, compassionate approach that honors any protective parts that might show up in the process of trauma treatment. It helps us resolve the trauma or difficult life experiences that caused our protective parts to start working hard in the first place.
What does this actually look like in real life?
Imagine you have a part of you that is a total perfectionist. It works overtime to make sure you never mess up, everything stays under control, and nothing falls through the cracks.
On the outside, it might help you achieve and get things done. But on the inside, it leaves you exhausted, anxious, and burnt out.
In our work together, we don’t try to force that perfectionist part to just "stop." Instead, we get curious about why it started working so hard in the first place. Maybe you learned early on that making mistakes led to conflict, or that achievement was the only way to feel valued. As we explore this, your perfectionist part realizes that you truly get it. You understand why it’s been working so hard, and it starts to feel safe enough to do things differently.
Together, we process those old, painful memories so your brain and body finally get the message that it’s okay to make mistakes. Once that old pressure melts away, that perfectionist part can finally take a break. You get to keep your natural drive and success, without the constant anxiety, burnout, or endless need to prove your worth.
